Up to 10 tons of boiled and frozen products per day can be produced by the Alliance Fish workshop - the first plant for processing live crab in Murmansk. Governor of the Murmansk region Andrey Chibis paid a familiarization visit to the shop today.

The enterprise works in conjunction with the Far East group of companies "Antey", which, among other activities, is engaged in crab catching in the Northern Basin. Live crabs are delivered to the shore by crab-catcher ships and placed for overexposure in special containers with sea water, from where they are sent to the workshop for processing into boiled-frozen semi-finished products. Thus, Antey and its partners were the first to establish full-cycle crab production in the Murmansk region - from fishing to boxes with finished products.

The shop in Murmansk is just a pilot project, the owners emphasize. Its main task is to work out the process and train specialists. The plans include the creation of a large modern production facility in the Arctic Circle with an investment volume of about three billion rubles. The design capacity of the plant is processing up to 50 tons per day with simultaneous storage of up to 200 tons of live crab at overexposure. At the same time, the production will be practically waste-free. According to the president of the group of companies "Antey" Ivan Mikhnov, the project will be implemented within two or three years.
The bulk of the production of the large crab factory will be exported. As for the domestic demand in the region, here, according to Andrey Chibis, the focus is on amateur crab fishing, the permit for which will come into force in August 2021.

“Our task is for us to have new investments, new jobs and new industries in the Murmansk region. Of course, we very much hope that there will be much more crab in the Murmansk region. This crab will be bought all over the world, ”the head of the region stressed.
